- first, I must say that this is all great.
I wonder if there is any way to be getting any additional vitamin info, specifically but not limited to B6 and B12.
Thanks in advance for any info or help on that.
We are taking into account developer feedback to add new attributes to our USDA data. Since the USDA does provide B6 and B12, this would not be very difficult, but we need to align resources specifically for apps that are being launched in the next 2-3 months.
Do you have a timeframe for when your app will be launched? Either way, I have added B6 and B12 to our list.
Thank you for the quick response. Great news that the USDA has this data.
I think that I would like to see the web release of my website in the next month or so. There are a lot of things on my own list. ;)
I am moving forward with my development and it should be seamless to incorporate the fields’ data once you have it available. In the interim, I am searching Google for “foodname+nutrition” and the B6, B12 and Magnesium info is always in a giant panel at the top of their search results. Being that my recipe info is targeted for vegans, I think it is more important to have it displayed.
On a related topic, I should ask if this the jQuery nutrition facts label will also be updated?
The jquery label is open-sourced, so anyone can contribute to the improvement (and addition of additional vitamins). We encourage you to become a contributor and help with that!
Will have an update soon on the vitamins. Thanks!
is it already possible to get the data about vitamin B12?
I have not found an accurate field @ “usda_fields”
Have you checked this field:
hmm, yes I have searched for it, but I have not found it.
Are you sure it is available?
Ah, you are correct. We are actually in the process of updating the USDA data to SR27, this will be completed in January 2015, and I just confirmed that the new values will include VITB12.
