what is nf_refuse_pct

what is the nf_refuse_pct item i see in results? percentage of ash by weight, perhaps? though it would seen odd not to give such in grams.

Hi, we do not currently use that attribute. It is derived from the USDA attribute, which is described here:

in case anyone else cares, the short answer is that refuse is the fraction of food as purchased which one does not eat, eg bone and gristle. the nutritional values are for just the edible portions; nf_refuse_pct allows you to calculate nutritional value per weight of, eg, a whole steak.
probably not of use to me, as it turns out.
